Marble - Drilling

Electroplated/braze-bonded bits of varying diameters are mainly used for this task. They are usually used in manual work on conventional machines where the use of hexagonal shanks is recommended to avoid bit rotation in the chuck.

Marble - Finger Routers

These electroplated/braze-bonded tools can be used for cutting or profiling.
Cutting: The finger routers are used to groove or mill and can be used for manual work with a cylindrical shank or in CNC machines with a ½” gas thread. They are available in various diameters and heights. Profilling: The profiling finger routers are used for contour grinding by hand or in CNC machines.

Marble - Milling Routers

The following types of routers are available:
Rough-grinding routers: electroplated/brazed plates are used for rough flat grinding whilst cups of various diameters and heights are used for rough contour grinding. Milling routers of various profiles are also available for rough grinding edges with portable machines. Profiling tools: Peripheral milling routers used for edge grinding using various profile types. Grooving tools (pilaster or slot edge) are also available. Straight edge-polishing tools: Metal-bonded segmented or continuous-rim cup wheels used in initial milling processes on straight-line edge-polishing machines. These tools can be used for gauging or moulding. CNC milling routers: Milling routers used for contouring. Employed as a 3-tool set (2 electroplated/braze-bonded and 1 fine-sintered), they can achieve an excellent finish on marble edges. Draining board routers: Segmented tools used to mill draining boards on inclined surfaces. Sintered tools are then used to give the inclined edge a good finish.
