POMDI – Herramientas de Diamante – a leading industrial diamond tool manufacturer, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Brazilian firm Abrasipa – Indústria de Abrasivos Ltda. to market the company’s products on the Iberian Peninsula. Through this partnership, POMDI will launch a new brand of polishing wheel onto the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
By joining forces, the companies are able to offer the flat glass sector a complete solution. The agreement not only makes a new range of tools available, but also facilitates development of combined solutions with POMDI’s grinding wheels.
Through the partnership, POMDI’s experience in the flat glass and automotive and decorative glazing sectors, alongside its highly effective solutions like its metal-bonded and resin-bonded bevelling machine-tools for making rear-view mirrors, is combined with Abrasipa’s 50 years of industry expertise and its comprehensive line of glass-polishing products, including cup wheels for straight-line edging machines and peripheral wheels for straight and curved edging.
The agreement helps POMDI fulfil its goal of providing cost-effective machining solutions to current and potential users, an approach designed to make the company a benchmark for both clients and suppliers.
The new product range released by the alliance will be on display at Veteco 2010, the International Window, Curtain Walls and Structural Glass Trade Show, which is due to take place from 4–7 May at the Madrid Exhibition Centre (halls 4, 6, 8 and 10).
Abrasipa – Indústria de Abrasivos Ltda. began making glass-polishing products in 1980. In recent years, it has emerged as the segment’s leader in Brazil and now makes products for a comprehensive range of edging, bevelling and polishing machines, as well as manufacturing other types of grinding wheel for the glass sector.
