POMDI attended the recent Stonexpo show in Las Vegas in search of a distribution channel for its stone sector CNC tools.

These tools are already on sale in the US under the APG brand name through Cosentino’s network of Stone Systems stone fabrication shops.

POMDI’s aim is to find a distribution channel in the North American market with the capacity to warehouse and re-profile its tools and so offer all of its clients a full-service solution.

The APG tool range will include the following categories:

EXCELLENCE: High finish quality tools.

HYBRID: Cost-effective tools that provide good finish quality in a few steps.

EXTRA HIGH-SPEED: High-speed machining tools.

POMDI – Herramientas de Diamante, a leading industrial diamond tool manufacturer, has signed an agreement with German firm ARTIFEX to distribute the company’s polishing wheels on the Iberian Peninsula. This partnership further widens POMDI’s already extensive range of high-quality grinding wheels for edging machines used in the flat glass sector.

Combining forces will also facilitate development of joint solutions based on POMDI’s grinding wheels, including the new patented 3NEO® system.

The agreement helps POMDI fulfil its goal of providing cost-effective machining solutions to current and potential users, an approach designed to make the company a benchmark for both clients and suppliers.

The new product range released by the alliance will be on display at VETECO 2012, the International Window, Curtain Walls and Structural Glass Trade Show, which is due to take place from 8–11 May at the Madrid Exhibition Centre (hall 8, stand D01).

Imagine that if every time you had to replace a worn tyre on your car, you had to buy a whole new wheel as well. Not only would it be hugely expensive, it would also be hugely wasteful.
Fortunately, somebody soon realised that since the wheel rim would be less likely to require changing, it would be cheaper and less wasteful to separate the two components and only replace the worn part — the tyre.

In June, an intern from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) joined the Marketing Department at POMDI – Herramientas de Diamante to strengthen the firm’s on-line sales channel. The internship is part of the work experience programme set up between the Regional Government of Madrid, Promomadrid and MIT Spain.
